Land Rover has been at the heart of equestrian sport in the UK for over 30 years and has been a principal sponsor of Eventing at Gatcombe Park since the first running of the British Open in 1983. In March 1993 the marque was one of the original sponsors of the new Gatcombe Novice Horse Trials, organised by HRH The Princess Royal, which later became the Gatcombe Novice & Intermediate Horse Trials when a new Intermediate cross country course was added with funding by Land Rover.

Land Rover is also Official Vehicle Supplier to the Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe Park and supplies vehicles to the Gatcombe International CIC * and CIC** event on 16-18 September. Land Rover also supports two of the biggest equestrian events in the UK; Royal Windsor Horse Show on 11-15 May and the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials on 1-4 September.

Further strengthening its long term commitment to equestrian sports, Land Rover contin-ues as Official Vehicle Supplier to Equestrian Team GBR, in what is an important year ahead with Rio 2016 in August. It also supports leading British riders Zara Phillips, Harry Meade, Laura Tomlinson, Ben Maher and Lee Pearson.

We look forward to welcoming you this year to the fifth Gatcombe International Horse Trials sponsored by Whatley Manor. Both the Gatcombe organisers and the Whatley team have a common passion: striving for excellence, yet remaining friendly and understated! Attention to detail, and respect for one another are paramount for us. At Whatley, we put our guests first. Here at Gatcombe we put horses and competitors first. Excellence is not perfection, but we all do our best to offer you the best possible experience whilst you are spending time with us.

I would like to wish to all the riders, owners and grooms a successful weekend, but above all a fun weekend, during which you all work in harmony with your horses towards safe and exhilarating rides. To all the officials and volunteers thank you for your time and making the event possible. And finally, to the spectators I wish you all an excellent day out and thank you for supporting your local International Horse Trials.
